Students: Good luck on Jeopardy! Teachers Tournament Ms. Wendling! Woo!
I'm Kathryn Wendling. I teach twelfth grade social studies at Burnsville High School in Burnsville, Minnesota.
What made you choose teaching as a career?
I think everybody that I know who is a teacher went into it thinking that they could make a difference in students' lives and contribute something to the world, so I think that's kind of a common thread with teachers.
Did your students help you prepare for the show?
My students helped me prepare for the show by, um, quizzing me a lot on their music, which was helpful.
What is your dream category?
Well, besides the obvious social studies categories, it would probably be non-academic subjects like REALITY TELEVISION and '80s HAIR BANDS, something like that.
What do you hope your students learn from watching you on Jeopardy!?
I always tell them in the classroom that, y'know, knowledge is power, and you've heard that before, but it really is true that, y'know, knowing something can never hurt you, so....
Tune in! You might learn a thing or two! |
