What happened when you found out you were going to be a contestant?
Well, I think I was one of the two contestants that made it onto the show that tried out in New York. My mom and I made a little weekend out of it. Then, I guess, one day I was coming home from school, and I got a couple 2x4s from the tech crew so I could use it on the homecoming hall, and I put it in the car, and my mom handed me the envelope. And before I even opened it, I started screaming and yelling and I bumped my head against one of the 2x4s, which was kind of fun. And then my mom said, "Well, why don't you open it up, to make sure it's, you know, from Jeopardy!," so I did, and it was. And then I called my best friend Rob, and then my mom suggested I call my dad next, so...
What are you most excited about today?
Today, I'm most looking forward to meeting Alex, playing the game. You know, I think it's just all really exciting for me.
If you had a "dream Jeopardy! category," what would it be?
Dream Jeopardy! category would be, probably, THINGS STEVE KNOWS, or THE SIMPSONS... something having to do with TV.
What did you do to prepare for today?
To prepare today, I did some of the Jeopardy! CD-ROM game, I played the online game. My friend Rob also, for my birthday, bought me the new Jeopardy! book, so I read that over.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Ten years from now, I'm hoping to be a lawyer. Eventually I want to work... in law, do some, maybe... judge... it's all up in the air right now, but law is definitely where I want to be.
Do you have a particular role model?
I have a lot of role models, but I have to say, one of them has to be Alex Trebek. My tie, of course, has Einstein on it. Smart guy, and he and I are both bad at math, so we have something in common. |
