Hi, I'm Susan Haarman, I'm from Marquette University, and you're watching me on jeopardy.com.
How did you find out you were chosen as a contestant?
The way I found out I'd been selected as a contestant for Jeopardy! is actually kind of a funny story. Uh, the way my schedule goes, because I have a lot of extracurricular activities, I'm usually out of the dorm at 8:00 A.M. and back at around 9 o'clock on a good night, so my roommate picks up all of my mail. So I'd walked down, and I was putting my key in the room to unlock the door, and a hallmate of mind who'd been working on some sort of project looks at me and goes "Hey, did you open that package from Jeopardy! you got today?" At which point in time I knew I'd be on, and I started screaming. I woke up all of my neighbors. They were not happy.
How did you prepare for today's game?
I haven't really done a lot of special stuff to prepare for today's game. I bought a trivia book and I've been flipping through that, but mostly I've just been paying attention to current events and going in with the attitude that I'm here to have fun. So, that's what I'm going to do.
Do you ever play JEOPARDY! online?
I have played Jeopardy! online a couple times to prepare, but, unfortunately, my computer's too slow, so I don't get on there that often.
What's your major?
My major is journalism and theology, and due to the fact that that's kind of an odd combination, I'm really not sure what I want to do when I grow up. But I do see myself being a hall minister possibly at a college sometime in the future.
