What happened when you found out you were going to be a contestant?
Yeah, well, actually, when I found out that I was going to be on the show--we got a FedEx package--and my dad was working outside, and I was actually inside recovering from surgery that I had that morning--I had--just minor surgery, nothing serious--but I had 22 stitches in me--so I was just sitting there, lying there. I was like, [groan]! And my dad's like, "Oh, Casey, something came for you in FedEx." I'm like, "Wait a minute, wait a minute, they said it'd come in FedEx." So then, I run to the door and get it, and I'm like "Yeah!" I'm jumping around, but I got 22 stitches in me. So I'm kinda like, "erp!" Yeah, but it was good, it was fun. Yeah, I was just really excited. I called everybody on the speed dial, just moved down the list. It was fun.
What did you do to prepare for today?
You have about three weeks, and there's only so much you can do between three weeks and when you tape to actually prepare for the show, so... I mean, I guess read over notes that I'd been taking, read over some master lists that I had, like American history, American lit... just a whole bunch of stuff, and, I mean, just, to be prepared is just sort of, just try to relax. And I know I have a problem doing that. I mean, I taped It's Academic for the Washington region, and, I always got nervous there, I'll get nervous here, so... just try to... see how... less nervous I can be. |
