What is the most rewarding aspect of being a teacher?
I'd been working in advertising and I wanted something that felt a little bit more emotionally gratifying, like I was doing something good for the world around me, um, and it turns out it's just the best thing I've ever done. It's fun. No day is ever boring or the same as the one prior.
How did you come to be on the Jeopardy! Teachers Tournament?
I came to be on the Jeopardy! tournament by, um, taking the online test at first, and then I was called in for the in-person test and interview, and lots of hoping and keeping fingers crossed.
What was your reaction when you found out you were going to be on Jeopardy!?
When I found out I was going to be on the show, I lost my mind. I was so excited. It's something I always wanted to do. I grew up watching the show with my mother, and grandmother. So, it was really something I always wanted. It's great.
How has your school reacted to you being on Jeopardy!?
At my school, everybody is so excited for me, particularly the childen. Um, it's amazing. We spend so much time as teachers being proud of them and taking such pride in all of their achivements, so it's really--it feels incredible, and it's really touching and overwhelming to have the tables kind of turned. |
