Students: Good luck on Jeopardy! Mrs. Hoffman!
My name is Elissa Hoffman. I teach in Appleton, Wisconsin at Appleton East High School, and I teach AP biology, anatomy & physiology, and biology.
What made you choose teaching as a career?
Um, at one point I wanted to be a doctor, because I really liked science, and I really enjoyed the--the challenge of it all, but then I realized that the aspect that I liked was education, and so I transferred to teaching and I've never looked back.
Any messages for your students?
Just that I'm proud of them, I'm so thankful for all the support they've given me, and I'm really excited to represent them on Jeopardy!
What is your dream category?
My dream category probably would be BEFORE & AFTER. I love that one. Otherwise, something in science would be great.
What's the most rewarding aspect of being a teacher?
I love seeing their eyes light up when they get to understand something that's been really complicated. It's just--it's... so rewarding to see that happen.
