Ed appeared on The Challengers in mid-January 1991, though many stations didn't show the episode because the Persian Gulf War began that week. He lost, and in his words, "won no money".

Ed first appeared on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire 2001-01-31 and incorrectly answered a flawed $16,000 question. He later appeared on 2001-09-07 with a new $16,000 question with his lifelines restored and went on to win a $1.86 million jackpot that he also played for during his initial appearance.
