Myron Meyer

Season 19 1-time champion: $50,000 + $1,000.

In his first game (#4139, aired 2002-09-05), Myron set a new single-day cash winnings record of $50,000, breaking the previous record of $39,999 set late in the previous season by Jeff Goldfarb in his first game (#4122, aired 2002-07-02). (However, Myron's single-day cash winnings record did not top the record of $34,000 set by Jerome Vered in his 4th game, #1794, aired 1992-05-21, if adjusted for doubled dollar values.) Myron's record would be broken later in the same season, when Brian Weikle won $52,000 in his 3rd game (#4296, aired 2003-04-14).

Myron retained the record of the largest amount won in a player's first game until broken by Season 38 5-time champion Andrew He with a $52,001 win in show #8508, aired 2021-11-10.
