How does it feel to be the new Jeopardy! champion?
It feels great to be a Jeopardy! champion. I've waited for this a long time, and, uh, actually I had the opportunity to try out for the teen and then the college tournaments, but wasn't able to make it, so, uh, I'm glad I was able to make it this time, uh, and I won!--and it--it came down to the Final question, and it was really exciting, so... and--and I had a lot of fun, too.
Did you guess during Final Jeopardy!?
I did, yes. [Maggie Speak: "So say that!"] I did know the correct response right away for Final Jeopardy! Uh, my husband and I are really into cars, and, uh, we both drive BMWs, who owns Rolls-Royce, and VW owns Bentley now. We--we knew that, so, uh, y'know, it's all luck of the draw, like they say. The questions come up, uh, randomly, and I happened to know it and the other two didn't, so...
Any messages to the folks back home?
Uh, well, first off, my husband, he's been very supportive of me, and my parents, uh, who are here today, uh, and my in-laws, Starr and Doug, uh, who couldn't make it--they live in Washington--but, uh, uh, love to them, too. |
