How does it feel to be the new Jeopardy! champion?
Hello, I'm Jeff Gorham from Richmond, Virginia, and I'm the new Jeopardy! champion.
Do you have any goals as the Jeopardy! champion?
Well, primarily have fun. I've always loved the game show genre, so, I mean, going back to Hugh Downs and Concentration--that's dating me right there. But, uh... so, uh... this is just a... opportunity to come out here, do somethin' fun. My mother was always fond of game shows, and then, y'know, she was basically--she was the one I had to worry about tellin', because she told everybody... that I was coming out here. So, uh...
Any messages to the folks back home?
I do have--I thank--I'm thankful for my--my job, Richmond Cold Storage. They were very good about lettin' me come out here, very flexible with the scheduling, and, as an accountant, sometimes time of the month is not very flexible, so, uh, we--they worked around me on that. Um, of course, all--all the folks, my parents 'n' everybody--all my teachers in high school very good about gettin' me educated. [Exaggerating his Southern drawl] I learned some stuff in high school in Alabama. |
