How does it feel to be the new Jeopardy! champion?
It's a dream come true. I--I--this is something I've looked forward to for 20, 25 years.
Do you remember the first time you played Jeopardy! at home?
Yeah, I remember the first time I--I'd watched, uh, Jeopardy! growing up with my grandmother, and even if I got the answers right, she'd scold me for, uh, answering before the--the question was finished, so... a little training early on.
Any messages to the folks back home?
Uh, there's a couple great teachers who I have to say thank you to. Uh, Mrs. Sheeda from third grade for just always promoting us to having a--a curiosity about the world, and Casey Johnson for, uh, the bow tie inspiration. So...

How does it feel to win your second game?
Best thing about being a 2-time Jeopardy! champion is you get to redeem yourself if you, uh, squeaked by some great contestants in the first one. Uh, really proud of this game, and it's something I'm going to remember forever.
Did you guess during Final Jeopardy!?
You know, it--it's kind of funny, actually. The answer to Final Jeopardy! was about a--a famous mystery writer, and my father's a--a mystery writer himself, so that helps a little bit.
How will you prepare for your return appearance on Jeopardy!?
I live in Boston. I'll be back on Monday to tape for the next week. Uh, my plans are to definitely either get an aisle seat or a window seat and get some nice sleep in both ways. |
