How does it feel to be the new Jeopardy! champion?
It's really thrilling to have won on Jeopardy! It's been a lifelong dream.

How did you prepare for your appearance on Jeopardy!?
I'm a triathlon coach, and, uh, in coaching endurance athlete, it's important to keep, uh, from being discouraged, and I was really, really in a down position in the game, but I just decided to stay relaxed, stay focused, make a bold move when it counted. It worked.

Tell us about the audition process.
You know, it's sort of been in the back of my mind for ten years, trying out for Jeopardy!, and finally, uh, the online, uh, test made it a--made it a lot simpler, and, uh, bless you for doing that, and, uh, here I am.

Any messages to the folks back home?
I'd like to thank, uh, all the athletes I've ever coached, because they have taught me far more than I think I could ever have taught them. I would also like to thank my--my late grandmother who instilled a lifelong love of learning in me.
