A video game tester from Los Angeles, California...

Stefan Goodreau

Are you more or less nervous to play this time?
I think the nervousness is about the same. Um, this time I've actually been making a conscious effort in the--in the days leading up to this to stay on as even a keel as possible, and we'll see how it turns out.

Did you learn anything from your previous appearance that will help you in this tournament?
I learned that I'm a lot better at this game than I give myself credit for.

How did you celebrate your original run on the show?
Well, the week that--that--my episodes aired, I was working nights, and we had a break at 7 o'clock. It was supposed to be a 15-minute break, but every day that week, me and the people I worked with went down to the break room and watched the show for the half-hour.

What advice do you have for future Jeopardy! contestants?
Watch the show as much as possible, play along if you can. You're likely better than you think. If you pass the test and get on the show, you're--you're good to go and you just have to get over your nerves.

...

How does it feel to be a finalist?
I can breathe a sigh of relief now, just 'cause, I did--I can sit and watch some good games get played. And, um, I didn't get to watch any games get played yesterday 'cause I had to sit in the green room so that the scores would not be revealed to me. Um, I really thought Dave had it the moment his response was revealed, because... my thought was, "If I get it right"--"If I get it wrong and Dave gets it right"--"If I get it wrong and Dave gets it right, I lose." And... and I just... figured on that. And then, his small wager was revealed and it's like, "Oh--oh my God. He--he--he's not going to beat me. And then, when--when Terry's response was revealed, it's--"Oh, my God! He's not going to beat me either!" And... and I'm just incredibly excited and a little overwhelmed and... almost feeling unworthy but I'll rise to the occasion.

What did you think of your quarterfinals game?
My quarterfinal game, I couldn't have been happier with how that turned out. It was--it was as good as being in a game with three champions, because, um, Vijay won, and Jason and I were wildcards, so we both got to move through. And I--I was so happy with that, I think that was the biggest joy that I was going--I thought that was the biggest joy that I was going to get out of this, and then I just won the semifinal game. Um, and I'd just like to thank the--the huge crowd that I've got over here: um, my--my mom and my dad and my sister and aunts and people associated with them, and...!

What now?
I'm gettin' ready to come back to play for two-five-oh-oh-oh-oh!
