Will playing Jeopardy! in Las Vegas affect your wagering?
Not at all. I'm resisting the temptation to give in to my gambler's urge, and instead I want to try to make rational decisions about how to handle the money aspect of it--try to give myself the best competitive advantage to move on.

How did you master the dreaded buzzer?
One of the tricks I learned from my father, who worked with the track team for years, was that they start and stop the stopwatch with their index finger, not with their thumb, and so that's the technique that I use. It's like this. I have a practice signaling device that I made at home out of a chalk holder that I got out of my classroom that I wrapped in painter's tape so that it has the right diameter, and so it's like that.
