A realtor from Mission Viejo, California...

Bill Sloan

Date of first Appearance:
January 1996

Total winnings:
$67,800

Favorite anecdote:
Acquaintances who did not know I was on the show saw my appearance while traveling in rather unusual locations--one in Seoul, Korea, and another in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. As recently as last year (over eight years after my appearance), a stranger approached me in a local supermarket and asked, “Aren't you the Jeopardy! guy.” It's amazing how long people remember the show.

Did being on Jeopardy! have any affect on your life?
The money was nice, but the public recognition was amazing. Never underestimate the power of television.

What did you do with your winnings?
I used a portion of my winnings to help my older son buy his first home. Consequently, my younger son is now watching the current tournament with great interest.

Anything else:
I greatly appreciate all the kind words and encouragement from my friends, co-workers, and acquaintances regarding my participation on Jeopardy!
