Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I hope to be managing a resort at Walt Disney World.
What will you do with the money you win?
If I win the show, I would definitely buy a car first, and then maybe go traveling.
Do you have a dream category?
A dream category would probably be BACKSTREET BOYS SONGS. [Laughs]
Does your major give you an advantage on Jeopardy!?
Uh, well, my major is marketing, and I really don't think it gives me much of an advantage. [Laughs]
What is your motivation for being on Jeopardy!?
My motivation for being on Jeopardy! is just that ever since I was little, I've been watching the show, so I've always wanted to be a part of it. So, just to prove that I can do it. |

Before we started the games, we waited in the Green Room. The green room was one of my favorite parts of the entire experience. We played games, ate, took pictures, and watched Talladega Nights. I also loved getting my make-up done before the games. When we were finally called to go on stage, nerves took over. Everytime the green room door opened, we all looked back to see if it was someone coming to take us onstage. On the way out, I tried not to pay attention to the size of the crowd or that most of them were from Wisconsin and therefore not cheering for me (lol).

Once my game finally started, I put the nerves behind me and played to the best of my ability. During the game, I played it safe and never rang in unless I was sure of the answer. What surprised me the most is that I got both Daily Doubles in Double Jeopardy! correct by guessing. What also surprised me is that I never once forgot to answer in the form of a question. When the Final Jeopardy! answer was revealed, I almost completely blanked. I couldn't even remember the 7 Wonders which explains why I got the question wrong. But overall, I was happy with my performance and if I could do it over, I'd just go for true Daily Doubles both times. But then again, hindsight is 20/20.
After my first game, I sat in the crowd and watched the games hoping not too many people would top my final dollar amount; that way, I could make it on to the semifinals as a wildcard. James [Grant] and I were very close in the end of our first game so the two of us were on pins and needles for the rest of the games.

When the final quarterfinal game was over and I saw that only 3 other non-winners were ahead of me, I was incredulous. I was so happy to be given a second chance.
When they played the tapes of the wildcards, all the other contestants began patting James and I on the back cause we were still in after losing our first game. Going into the semi-final game though, I knew there was a good chance I wouldn't win, and I didn't. But I was happy, nonetheless.

My afterthoughts on the tournament are both happy and sad. I'm happy because I had one of the best weeks of my life with people I barely knew and made lifelong friends. I'm sad because our time, of course, had to come to an end. I'm incredibly happy for Joey, whom we nicknamed Joe Bob, and I wish he and Nicole [his fiancée] the best in life. I'm so proud of all my fellow contestants and so happy to have shared this experience with them. My family is also very proud of me and everyone at home says that even though I didn't win, I got a lot further than they ever would've. Lol. |
