Favorite anecdote:
Kept winning a secret from everyone (except immediate family) and remain pleased that, among many if not most others, my high school acting teacher didn't think me capable of keeping that big a secret that long.
Also, much respect to the Atlanta Braves, as the year I made fun of them on Jeopardy! for their wretched history they went on a tear that has yet to end. A Southern lady named Lillian Justice wrote me a letter after the show, applauding me for demonstrating that not every Southerner is slow, while sweetly yet firmly upbraiding me for failing to uphold our tradition of gentility. I can only think she meant my remark about the Braves, and I've wondered ever since if Braves outfielder David Justice was any relation. In any case, if it isn't too late, my sincere apologies.
Did being on Jeopardy! have any effect on your life?
It took me longer thereafter than is customary to become a penniless bohemian. “Vecchia zimarra, senti…” |
