How did you find out you'd be on Jeopardy!?
They--they called my mom and told her not to tell me for a week. So... when I found out I'd made it, it was from my mom, who snuck in to the back of my choir, uh, class, and there's 80 of us in the choir. Suddenly she's behind the risers with balloons. And, I think, within the next three hours, every single kid at my school knew I'd made it. It was amazing.
How did your teachers and classmates react?
When they found out I'd made it, everyone was pretty happy for me. But the funny ones were the quiter kids that I don't really know that haven't really talked to me at all. Uh, one girl, uh, saw the balloons, and she was like, [very cool voice] "Yeah, so, what's with the balloons?" And when I told her I'd made Jeopardy! she went, [very excited voice] "You made Jeop!--" [cool voice again] "--that's--cool--really cool. Yeah."
What will you do with your winnings?
I don't know, I--I've jokingly said that I will buy about $20,000 worth of Jell-O, and fill the school pool with it on a cold day, but, really, I don't know--it could go towards college, or I might just save it, 'cause there's nothing that I'm really--y'know--dying for, but... it would be nice to have some extra money lying around.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
10 years from now I will be... in grad school... I will be a millionaire... I could be a hobo... I have no idea. I'm--I'm interested in musical theatre, theoretical physics, um, politics, and, really, I'm just going to go to college and hope for the best, hope I'll figure out what I'm going to do, but 10 years from now, knowing me, I'll probably still be in grad school. |
