How did you find out you'd be on Jeopardy!?
What happened when I found out I'd be on Jeopardy! is my parents actually surprised me at school. I was at chorus practice. And they knew they wouldn't be able to get to me later than that, so what they did was they sort of picked my brother up, made him skip his saxophone lessons, bought a bouquet of roses, and drove over to my school. And they ambushed me at chorus and my dad sort of told me that I was going to be on Jeopardy!--in front of all my chorus classmates. And they all freaked out and they started giving me hugs. It was great. It was awesome.
How did you prepare for the show?
I prepared... by... if anything, I just read more trivia books, um, played a lot of Trivial Pursuit, um... My dad would quiz me about a lot of stuff, just randomly. And I watched the show. A lot. Like, every day.
What makes a great Jeopardy! contestant?
A great Jeopardy! player knows a lot, but not in one specific area. I mean, he has to know, like, tons of things. Maybe not as specialized, but general knowledge is more important. And they've also got to be fast, good reflexes. And I like the pace of the show. So that's what I really appreciate. How they can go fast and stuff.
What are you going to do with the winnings?
Well, I plan to use my winnings for college money. If I could, I'd go on a trip around the country with my friends, but that's not going to happen.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself probably writing. Writing books. Um, maybe as an artist. I really don't know. It's hard to picture. But I really do have a lot of time to decide. |
