An attorney from Los Angeles, California...

Jeff Richmond

Date of first appearance:
December 1988

Total winnings:
$69,302 (Regular shows $58,302, 1989 ToC $1,000, 1990 Super Jeopardy! $10,000)

Do I have a nickname associated with my appearance:
No. In fact I lost a nickname. My college friends used to call me the Repository of Useless Information, but they stopped when I found a use for it.

Records held/stats:
Five-time champ.

Favorite anecdote associated with being on the show:
An awful lot of people recognized me in different places--including a neighbor of mine, also named Jeff Richmond, who said he was being driven crazy by congratulatory phone calls.

Did being on Jeopardy! have any effect on your life:
It allowed me not to live the typical starving student life while I was in law school. (My regular shows were taped during the first month of my first year.)

Is there anything you would like viewers to know about you:
I would just like them to understand that a lot of brain cells can die in seventeen years.

"He used his 1988 5-game winnings to pay for law school. Today he's an attorney. From Los Angeles, California..."
