An actor and writer from Los Angeles, California...

Jack Archey

Date of first appearance:
December 1999

Total winnings:
$51,302 for regular shows, plus $2,500 for Tournament of Champions appearance

Records held/Stats:
5-time champion; last champion of the 1900s and first of 2000

Favorite anecdote associated with being on the show:
My fifth game was the only one in which I had a runaway going into Final Jeopardy! So I decided to enjoy the moment and bet $0. I wrote, “What is ‘Woo Hoo! Yee Ha! Yeah, Baby!'” Only Alex could somehow sound professional while reading that.

Effect being on Jeopardy! had on my life:
Being a five-time Jeopardy! champion is almost like having a lifetime pass from being called stupid--even though I often provide reasons for people to do so.

What I did with my winnings:
I didn't do anything really crazy with my winnings, but for someone who had recently decided to venture out from corporate America into the performing arts world, the money provided a nice little cushion.

Anything else to let viewers know about me:
I may just be the loudest sneezer on the face of the earth. Also, I have a personal rule that whenever I drive past a mascot who's standing outside a store and waving at traffic, I have to honk my horn.

"He was a CPA and comedian when he won his 5th game in 2000. He's now an actor and writer living in Los Angeles, California..."

2000 Tournament of Champions quarterfinalist: $2,500.
Season 16 5-time champion: $51,302 + a Chevrolet Corvette.
