Memories of the Jeopardy! experience:
After my first win, Sarah and I had dinner at a fancy Santa Monica restaurant, and the manager sent over a glass of champagne on the house (I think Cher was at one of the other tables, or maybe it was just the champagne). I remember friends from as far back as high school sending congratulations, which was especially nice. I enjoyed the entire process--the preparation, the games themselves, and the all-too-brief afterglow. That's what makes this opportunity such an unexpected pleasure.
Did you do anything interesting with the winnings?
I guess the money gave me more flexibility in planning and launching my start-up. I think I inherited the gene from my father that makes it impossible (or at the very least, difficult) to work for someone else, so the logical move was to find a way to work for myself. The Jeopardy! winnings were a helpful push in that direction.
Did being on the show have an affect on your life?
I don't think being on a game show has the power to change your life, but it does a great job of breaking the ice at cocktail parties. |
