What happened when you found out you were going to be a contestant?
I had no idea whether or not I was going to make it after the try-out, but they said they'd send us a package in November if we were selected. So in October, which was a little earlier than I would have expected, my mom came and gave me the envelope after I got home from school, and it turns out that I actually made it and I was really excited and I screamed a little bit.
What are you most excited about today?
Today, I'm most excited about just playing the game, and meeting Alex, and maybe hitting a Daily Double or two.
Do you have any strategy for today?
In terms of strategy, I think I'm just going to try play it safe, and not get in the hole or lose all my money at once.
If you had a "dream Jeopardy! category," what would it be?
Uh, my dream category would either be, SIMPSONS--details from specific episodes--or, um, WHAT I ATE THIS MORNING.
How did you prepare for today?
To prepare for the show, I bought the CD-ROM game, and I played that a little bit, and I just kept going to my quiz bowl team practices, and I just kept paying attention in school.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
In ten years I hope to be trying to get my M.D./Ph.D. degree, and maybe entering a career in medical research or medical science in general.
Do you have a particular role model?
One of my role models would have to be Ken Jennings, because he's just so good at the buzzer, and so, he also seems to be a really nice guy. |
