Hi, I'm Erin Bogart from Miami University, and you're watching me on jeopardy.com.
How did you find out you were chosen as a contestant?
I found out I was going to be on Jeopardy! when the local news station came to Miami University and pretended that they were there for a completely different reason. We did a 45-minute interview--faked, of course--and then at the end they surprised me by telling me I was going to be on Jeopardy! [Laughs]
What made you decide to try out for JEOPARDY!?
Um, I heard it on the news, and since they were actually being done in Cincinnati, and I'm from Cincinnati, I thought, "Why not? I've watched it forever. I may as well try out."
Do you ever play JEOPARDY! online?
I have played Jeopardy! online, and I thought it was harder. [Laughs] It really scared me when I--when I knew I was going to audition, and--and the questions were much harder than I was expecting.
What's your major?
I am a psychology major with a minor in family studies. I think I'm one of the only people here with one major. Um, I'm not sure what I want to do yet; I'm not even sure if I want to go to graduate school, so it's a little up in the air right now.
How did you prepare for today's game?
Uh, I bought some high school review books, like review of American history, review of literature. I looked over 'em a little, but I thought, either I know it or I don't, and it's probably in there somewhere. [Laughs] So I didn't study that hard.
