Hi, I'm Jaime, I'm from Brown University, and you're watching me on jeopardy.com.
What made you decide to try out for JEOPARDY!?
I had always wanted to be on Jeopardy! and one day I was actually playing the online version of Jeopardy! and decided to look around and see if there were any, um, auditions coming up, and I saw there was, and I sent in my name, and got called.
How did you find out you were chosen as a contestant?
Somehow by accident the letter telling me that I had gotten onto Jeopardy! went to my home address rather than to my school address. So my mother gives me a call, and she says, "FedEx has been trying to deliver this letter for the last week, and I thought it was for your sister, but FedEx says it's for you, and it's from Jeopardy! in California." And I was pretty sure they hadn't sent me anything saying "Sorry, but thanks but no thanks," so, I knew right then that I had gotten on.
What's your major?
I am a theater major, and ideally I would love to do something in theater, not at all sure what, whether it's acting, designing, directing, stage managing, um... I'm also interested in possibly becoming a sign language interpreter.
Are you prepared for fame and fortune?
[Laughs] I have been ready for fame and fortune my entire life, so Jeopardy! is just one step along the way.
