What happened when you found out you were going to be a contestant?
Um, we were in the car, and my mom gets a call on her cell phone. And, she's like, "Well, I've known for a week that you're going to be on Jeopardy! but I couldn't tell you, because they wanted to ambush you." So I was a little upset, because, um, like the superintendent knew, because they had to clear it with him if they wanted it, y'know. So a lot of people knew before me. But I was really, really excited.
Is there anyone you'd like to say "Hi" to?
Um, yeah. "Hi" to Mr. Lyly's Western civ. class, also to Mr. Stebens, who's my Academic Challenge coach.
Did anyone give you any special advice on playing the game?
Um, not really. Um, for Academic Challenge, it's pretty much all the normal stuff, like "Make sure you buzz" and stuff like that. And, um, Mr. Lyly wanted to make sure that if I didn't know the Final Jeopardy! answer, I use some kind of answer from Western civ., because I would be legend forever in Twinsburg High School.
How did you prepare for today?
Um, I really didn't have time 'cause of extracurriculars and stuff, but, um, I guess Academic Challenge matches would count as preparation, 'cause, just quizzing ourselves and things like that.
Do you have a favorite Jeopardy! category?
Um, anything with history, especially, like, THE CIVIL WAR, or THE THIRTY YEARS' WAR, is pretty good. FRENCH REVOLUTION. Any of those.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Well, I'm captain of Academic Challenge, I'm treasurer in the drama club, so... I do tech for all of our plays. And, um, I play bassoon in the school band, in the school orchestra, and I also play in an outside orchestra called the Stow Symphony, which is in a town a couple towns away. And, um... Yeah, I like to read. Things like that.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Uh, ten years from now, uh... Hopefully out of college. Out of med school. Probably a resident somewhere. |
