What happened when you found out you were going to be a contestant?
I was taking a nap and my mom gave me a call. She had known for a week, and she was just like, "Oh," you know, "I got some good news," and I was like, [sleepyhead reply] "Weh weh weh." She's like, "You're going to be on Jeopardy!" and I was like "...Okay," and I think I went back to sleep. Didn't really hit me until the next day.
How did you prepare for today?
There's a teacher in my school who, uh, tried out for Jeopardy!--he's like a trivia whiz--so he was kinda my mentor, took me under his wing. And we studied a lot of, uh, paintings, and books and plays, because I don't know anything about that kind of thing.
Hello Mr. Shaffer! Heh heh.
Do you have a favorite Jeopardy! category?
I think I'm going to know a lot about anything to do with obscure history stuff. I'm going to be horrible at math and science.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Ten years from now I hope to be in a classroom teaching AP World History or AP U.S. History. I really want to teach, uh, history, or may be an elementary school teacher, uh, teaching smaller kids, so... Who knows? We'll go from there.
What will you do with the money if you win big?
I know I want to buy an iPod, but I don't know other than that. My mom wants me to spend money on college, but other than that, I don't have any plans.
What do you like to do in your free time?
When I'm not studying, I watch, uh, Family Guy, South Park, I'm kind of a jokester. I like to laugh. So... |
