A senior from Setauket, New York...

Loren Loiacono

What happened when you found out you were going to be a contestant?
I--it was after eating dinner. I just had a really terrible college interview--I'm not saying where or anything, but, it didn't go very well--and I was kind of in this awful mood that it hadn't gone right, and my mom gets a phone call and she tells me, she's like, "Well, I'm really sorry to tell you this, but I've known this for a week, but they're going to ambush you, but you're going to be on Jeopardy! You're going to be on Teen Jeopardy!" And they couldn't--oh--I'm actually kind of glad they didn't ambush me, because that would have been kinda awkward. But... I don't know, I was... Yeah...

Did anyone give you any special advice on playing the game?
I guess mostly just "Have fun playing with the buzzer." Which is pretty much just the way I'm thinking about it.

Do you have a favorite Jeopardy! category?
Any--anything involving classical music would be wonderful.

How did you prepare for today?
I--my f--my f--one of my friends Tom, well, he's a real Jeopardy! fanatic, so like two minutes after I told him, ran out to the library and got all these trivia books and came over. And we had to play Trivial Pursuit and we're going to study and well, yeah, I ended up just playing a lot of Trivial Pursuit with my friends.

Is there anyone you'd like to say "Hi" to?
I would like to say--yeah, I'd like to say "Hi" to all my friends, especially my friends in ASG, especially Tom, as well as my family, my siblings, Mikey, Ashley, and Sidney, I love you guys. Uh, my parents. And I guess that's it. All my friends. So...

What are you most looking forward to today?
Honestly, I get to sit behind the podium, and as my friends tell me, play with the buzzer.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Um, I hopefully will have my doctorate in music composition and hopefully making money as a composer as a musician, which--that's--that should be interesting ten years from now.

What are your plans for college?
I'm not 100% sure. Basically looking at schools of really strong composition programs, so, you know... It's... We'll see...
