In his first appearance, Tucker wore his grandfather's letter sweater from circa 1943 when he was the manager for the Iowa State University baseball team. After that year, his father lost a leg in a farming accident, so he had to drop out of school to help run the family farm. As a result, he never got to finish his education, so it meant a lot to him that Tucker and his other grandchildren did. Tucker's grandfather died in 2001, and Tucker wore the sweater as a tribute.
