A high school English teacher from Huntington Beach, California...

Judd Hess

My name is Judd Hess. I teach twelfth grade English and creative writing at Godinez Fundamental High School in Santa Ana, California.

What made you choose teaching as a career?
Oh, I fell in love with it as a volunteer in college when I got to teach in the inner-city district that I teach in now.

What do you enjoy most about teaching?
Oh, the students. The students are amazing. Um, just their drive, their ambition, their hard work.

How did your students react when they found out you made it on Jeopardy!?
My students and my staff were just, uh, really excited. They, uh, thought it was a wonderful opportunity and I hope that I do 'em proud today.

What is your dream category?
Oh, my dream category would probably be ROMANTIC POETRY.

Tune in! You might learn a thing or two!
