A psychologist and university counseling center director from Washington, D.C....

Silvio Menzano

Hey there, I'm Silvio Menzano, a psychologist from Washington, D.C. Watch me psych out the competition on Jeopardy!

[2010-11-01 Winner's Circle interview]
How does it feel to be the new Jeopardy! champion?
[Fans open mouth with spread-wide fingers, shakes clenched fists next to head, gasps] Yes! [Edit] Oh, my God, I couldn't be more thrilled. This is like a dream come true. I'm--I'm--I'm--I'm shocked, I really am. I really am.

Did you guess during Final Jeopardy!?
Well, I was wagering, um--I-I-I was in third place, and, I'm like, "Okay, these two have about twice as much as me", so, I figured I need to bet it all. Go big or go home. Heh! So... [Maggie Speak: "You were lucky you knew the correct response!"] Lucky! That was divine intervention, as far as I'm concerned. So...

Any messages to the folks back home?
I've got to thank my beautiful husband, Jeff, who's sittin' out in the audience. Uh, I want to thank, um, my in-laws, who are very supportive and are here, uh, today as well, and I also want to thank, uh, my staff at the Marymount University Counseling Center. They're holdin' down the fort while I'm here, and thank you guys, you're the best, um, and I wouldn't be here without you.

Season 27 1-time champion: $10,300 + $1,000.
